Scoil Aiséirí Chríost is situated on the North Side of Cork City in a place called Farranree. The name Farranree comes from the Irish words Fearran Rí, which mean the Land of the King. Scoil Aiséirí Chríost first opened its doors to the children of Farranree in June of 1959. It is a Presentation School founded by the Sisters of the North Presentation Convent in Gerald Griffen Street. This is an all girls school. 400 children attend the school with a further 60 three year old boys and girls enrolled in the Early Start Preschool.
Scoil Íosagáin, FARRANREE, CORK

Confucius, the ancient Chinese philosopher, said of education:
“I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand”
In many ways, this comment, made over 2,000 years ago is as true today as it was then. We believe that children learn by doing. This simple philosophy underpins our approach to education in Scoil Íosagáin. We provide our pupils with ample opportunity to reach their potential along each stage of their development and we provide encouragement where it is needed. All of this work done in a spirit of cooperation among pupils, staff and parents makes this school a very happy place for all members of our school community.
