Thank you to all those who took up the invitation to give their reaction to this proposal. Most people were supportive of the idea and encouraged me to proceed. Some people expressed legitimate concerns or said they would prefer to see it used for more local families. I understand and respect this viewpoint and thank them for their honesty in sharing their views with me. Given that the vast majority of those who expressed a view were in favour, I have made our offer to the City Council on behalf of the parish through the new ‘Offer A Home’ initiative launched by the government this week. The next step will involve the house being assessed to judge whether it is deemed suitable. If there are small works that need to be carried out, we hope that local tradesmen and women might be willing to give us a hand to help make the house homely, safe and comfortable for the family that hopefully will benefit. I will keep you all informed over the coming weeks and look forward to your help and support. Fr Seán
