Knock Shrine to host Triduum to Saint Joseph

As the year of Saint Joseph draws to a close, plans are underway at Knock Shrine to mark the end of this special year with a Triduum to St Joseph from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 November, 2021.

To celebrate the Year of Saint Joseph, Knock Shrine has commissioned a beautiful new statue. Designed and sculpted by renowned Italian sculptors Ferdinand Stuflesser 1875 studios, it depicts Saint Joseph as he appeared in the Apparition at Knock in 1879.

The statue will be placed at the sanctuary in the Basilica during the Triduum ceremonies.

Guest speakers for the Triduum celebrations are as follows:

Friday 5 November:

​Rosary at 7pm and Mass at 7.30pm
Speaker: ​Trish O’Brien, St Louis Community School, Kiltimagh
Theme:​​ Saint Joseph and the Family

Saturday 6 November:

​Rosary at 7pm and Mass at 7.30pm
Speaker: ​Most Rev. Michael Neary, DD, Archbishop of Tuam
The Mass will include a special blessing of the new statue of St Joseph
Theme: ​Saint Joseph, the Man of Faith

Sunday 7 November:

Rosary at 2.30pm and Mass at 3pm
Speaker:​Father Richard Gibbons, PP and Rector of Knock Shrine
Theme:​​Saint Joseph and Knock

Church Open for Private Prayer:  Our Side Chapel  remains open daily for private prayer from after Mass  until 4.00 p.m.
