Fr Paul Clayton-Lea publishes first issue as reappointed editor of Intercom

The first issue of Intercom under the new editorship of Father Paul Clayton-Lea, has been published. Father Paul, a priest of the Archdiocese of Armagh, previously served as editor of Intercom from 2015-17, and returns to replace the outgoing editor Father John Cullen, a priest of the Diocese of Elphin. Intercom magazine, the official publication of the Irish Catholic Bishops’ Conference, is published ten times a year and is an important resource for clergy and laity serving in a variety of ministries within the Church, and to anyone with an interest Church life across the island of Ireland.

In the editorial of the September issue of Intercom, Father Paul writes, “It is a privilege to return to ‘team’ Intercom and I thank most sincerely outgoing editor Fr John Cullen for his personal courtesy and very generous assistance during the transition period. Intercom was established fifty-one years ago and its first advertisement was from a company offering to build a house for 3,650 Irish pounds. Since then much has changed in the housing market and in the house of the Lord but for both who have known a time of tearing down it is once more a time to build up (Ecclesiastes.3:3).”

The September issue of Intercom features articles such as ‘Creation and Vocation – A Nun’s Story’ by Sister Ann Marie OP, ‘A More Authentic Church – Women on the Synodal Pathway’ by Fainche Ryan and ‘St Dominic 800’ by Father Conor McDonough OP.
